What the render is, and is not
About the AI images we create
On this page
1. What you are looking at
You give us a photo of your room. Roomquoted's generative AI design model redraws that room with the changes you asked for. The result is a concept: a picture of the idea, made to help you decide what you want and to describe it to a company.

This image was generated by AI. Roomquoted has not verified that anything shown in it is available, permitted, or buildable in your room.
2. How it is made
- You upload one photo and tell us what you want changed.
- We send the photo and your description to Roomquoted's generative AI design model, which we set up and tune for home remodels. It runs on AI infrastructure from the providers listed on our Subprocessors page.
- The model returns a new image of your room. We add the visible "AI concept" label before you see it.
- No person reviews each image before it is shown to you. It is generated and displayed automatically. We review images that get reported.
3. What the image is not
- Not a photograph of finished work.
- Not a design plan or a construction drawing. No builder can work from it.
- Not a promise that any fixture, material, layout, colour or finish shown is available, in stock, permitted, structurally possible, or included in the estimate.
- Not a representation of any company's work, portfolio or style.
- Not a measurement. Nothing in it is to scale.
- Not a design service. Nobody designed it, and we do not claim to have designed anything.
4. How we label them
Every image we generate carries a visible label wherever it appears:
The same label appears on the results page, in the shortlist, in email, and on any image you download or share.
We do this because it is right, not because a law forces it. California's AI Transparency Act binds very large AI providers rather than sites like ours, and we would rather label everything now than argue about who the rule covers.
5. Why the image and the price are not the same thing
The image shows a style. The estimate prices a scope. They are produced in different ways and they do not have to match.
- The estimate covers the work you described: the items, sizes and finish level you chose.
- It does not cover a specific tap, tile, slab or appliance shown in the picture.
- If the picture shows a moved wall or a new window and you did not ask for one, that is the model inventing. It is not in the price.
The final design and the final price both come from the company you choose, after it has seen your room. See how we estimate prices.
6. Your photo
- We may use your photo to train and improve our own model, unless you switch that off on Your Privacy Choices. The AI providers that run our model may not train their own models on it.
- Only you see it, until you choose otherwise. A company sees your photo and your project only when you approve sending it that project.
- You can delete it any time, from your account or by asking us. Deleting the photo deletes the renders made from it.
- We keep it while your project is active, and then for the period set out in the privacy policy.
Please do not upload photos of a home you do not live in or own without asking the owner, and try to keep people out of the frame.
7. When the AI gets it wrong
It will, and here is how:
- It misreads rooms: it can turn a doorway into a cabinet, or a radiator into a bench.
- It invents architectural features: windows, skylights, beams, islands that would not fit.
- It produces impossible geometry, where two walls cannot both be where they look.
- It flatters. Lighting and space usually look better than the room will.
If the picture shows something you want, say so to the company in writing and ask whether it is possible and what it costs. Treat the image as a conversation starter, never as a spec.
8. Report an image
If an image looks misleading, shows something unsafe, or shows your home when it should not, tell us and we will take it down.
