1. Who we are and what this covers
Roomquoted is operated by Humanik Technologies Inc. (Florida, United States and Ontario, Canada), referred to here as "Roomquoted", "we" or "us". We decide how the personal information described here is used, so we are responsible for it under the privacy laws that apply to us.
This policy applies to:
- homeowners and other visitors who use roomquoted.com, including the steps to see a design and prices;
- people who work for renovation companies and use Roomquoted for their business; and
- information about renovation businesses that we list, including businesses that have not joined Roomquoted.
We serve people across Canada and the United States. This policy applies wherever you use Roomquoted, and we handle your information as the privacy laws where you live require.
It forms part of our Terms of Use. It does not cover websites, apps or companies we link to or introduce you to. Their own policies apply.
2. The short version
- What we collect: your project answers, the photo you upload, your phone number when you ask for your prices, your name and email if you create an account, and standard website data such as your IP address.
- Companies receive your details only when you approve them, by name, one approval per company, up to three.
- We do not sell your personal information for money. Companies pay us a fee for an introduction service, not for your data.
- We use what you give us broadly to run, improve and develop Roomquoted, to train our models and to make de-identified data. Some of these uses can be switched off on Your Privacy Choices.
- Measurement and advertising cookies are off until you allow them, and we honour Global Privacy Control.
- You can ask for a copy, a correction or a deletion at any time on Your Privacy Choices or by email to info@humanik.io.

| Requests and complaints | What you tell us when you contact us, make a privacy request or report a problem |
3.2 Information collected automatically

| From service providers | Delivery status of texts and emails, fraud and security signals |

We do not ask for your date of birth, income, credit history or government ID. Homeowners do not pay us, so we do not hold homeowners' card details. Please do not send us sensitive information we have not asked for.
4. How we use it
We use personal information for purposes such as:
- running Roomquoted and showing you your design and prices;
- making AI concept images of your room (section 5);
- working out prices for your project, and matching and ranking companies by published rules;
- confirming your phone number with a one-time code;
- introducing you to the companies you approve, and carrying messages between you;
- sending you texts and emails about your project, and answering your questions;
- keeping the site secure, and preventing fraud, spam and misuse;
- fixing problems, and improving and developing Roomquoted and our other products and services;
- training, testing and improving our models, such as the ones that read a room, draw a concept and estimate a price (section 5);
- research and analytics, including measurement if you allow it;
- creating de-identified and combined information (section 14);
- telling you about Roomquoted, where you have agreed to marketing messages;
- advertising Roomquoted on other sites, only if you allow advertising cookies;
- keeping records of consent and meeting our legal, tax and accounting duties; and
- enforcing our terms and protecting our rights and the rights of others.
We may also use it for other purposes we tell you about when we collect it, that are compatible with these purposes, or that you agree to. Some of these uses start on and can be switched off, as set out in section 15 and on Your Privacy Choices. Where the law requires consent, we ask for it separately for each purpose. Agreeing to be contacted by a company is never bundled with agreeing to our terms, and nothing is pre-ticked.
5. AI concept images and automated processing
- How images are made. We send your photo and project answers to Roomquoted's generative AI design model, which runs on infrastructure from AI providers that work for us under contract. They are named on our Subprocessors page.
- Training our own models. We may use room photos, concept images and project details to train, test and improve our own models. This starts on, and you can switch it off on Your Privacy Choices. We never use your name, phone number or email to train a model.
- Not our providers' models. We require the AI providers that run our models not to use your photos to train their own models.
- No biometric data. We do not use your photo to identify anyone, and we do not extract face geometry or other biometric identifiers from it. Please keep people out of the frame.
- Only upload photos you are allowed to share, such as your own home, or a home where you have the owner's permission.
Automated processing. Our software works out prices and orders the companies you see, using the rules published on How ranking works and How we estimate prices. No decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you is made solely by automated means. You always choose which companies to contact. If you would like to know more about how a result was produced, or to tell us you think it is wrong, contact our Privacy Officer at info@humanik.io.
7. Companies you choose to contact
Renovation companies are independent businesses, not part of Roomquoted. Once a company receives your details through an approved introduction, it handles them under its own privacy practices and the laws that apply to it, and it is responsible for that handling. Our agreement with companies that join Roomquoted requires them to use your details only for your project and not to pass them on.
You can withdraw your approval at any time. That stops us sharing anything further with that company, but we cannot recall information it has already received. To have a company delete your details, contact it directly. We will help if you ask.
8. Text messages and email
- Verification codes. When you ask for your prices, we text you a one-time code. We send it because you asked for it.
- Project messages. With your consent, we text you about your project, such as when a company replies. Message frequency varies with your project. Message and data rates may apply.
- Stopping texts. Reply STOP to any text to stop them, or HELP for help. You can also tell us any other reasonable way, such as by email.
- Marketing. We send marketing texts or emails only with your express consent, and every one tells you who sent it and how to unsubscribe.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Our messaging providers deliver texts for us and may not use your number for their own purposes. Full details are in our SMS terms.
10. Information about businesses we list
To show homeowners local companies, we hold business information about renovation companies, including companies that have not joined Roomquoted. We collect it from public business listings and from city and provincial licence registers. It includes the business name, trade, licence number and status, business phone, website and business location.
We use this information to describe the business, check its licence, show it in results and, where the law allows, contact it about Roomquoted in its business capacity. Many renovation companies are run by one person, so some records may name a person. We do not publish an owner's personal name, or a home address that a register lists only as a mailing address.
A listed company can ask us to correct its details or take its listing down at any time. Email info@humanik.io from an address on the company's own website or register record. We act on correction and removal requests within 30 days.
11. Where your information is stored
We and our service providers store and process information in Canada, the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Information stored outside your province, state or country is subject to the laws there, and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under those laws.
We use contracts and other measures to protect information we transfer, and we take the steps the law where you live requires before information leaves your province, state or country.
12. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. That includes providing Roomquoted to you, resolving disputes, keeping records of consent, enforcing our terms, and meeting our legal, tax and accounting obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it.
You can ask us to delete your room photo at any time, and we will.
We may keep information longer where the law requires it, to resolve a dispute, or to enforce our terms. When you ask us to delete information, we delete what we are not required to keep and tell you what we kept and why.
13. How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the information, including:
- encryption of traffic to and from the site (HTTPS);
- storage with providers that encrypt data at rest;
- private storage for room photos, served through links that expire;
- limiting access to personal information to people who need it for their work; and
- keeping only what we need, for as long as we need it.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Keep your password private, and tell us straight away at info@humanik.io if you think your account has been misused.
14. De-identified and combined information
We may create information that no longer identifies you or your home, such as typical costs by room and area, combined price data or usage statistics. We may use and share it for any purpose, including with companies and partners and in published cost guides. We keep it in de-identified form and do not try to re-identify it, except where the law allows us to test that it is properly de-identified. You can ask us to leave your projects out of new combined figures on Your Privacy Choices.
15. Your choices about how we use information
Settings that start on apply unless you switch them off. Settings that start off apply only after you say yes. The plain-language version, and how to change each one, is on Your Privacy Choices.
| Setting | Starts | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Improving Roomquoted | On | Using your project answers, photos, concept images, the companies you compared and what happened next to improve Roomquoted: our pricing engine, how we match and rank companies, the concept images and the site itself. |
| Training our models | On | Using room photos, concept images and project details to train and test the models that power Roomquoted, such as the ones that read a room, draw a concept and estimate a price. Your name, phone number and email are never used for this. |
| Cost and trend insights | On | Combining information from many projects into de-identified figures, such as typical costs by room and area, and using or sharing those figures, including in cost guides, with companies and with partners. Nothing in them identifies you or your home. |
| Marketing messages from Roomquoted | Off | Emails or texts from Roomquoted about new features, offers and ideas for your home. Messages about a project you started are separate and are not marketing. |
| Advertising cookies | Off | Cookies that let us show Roomquoted ads on other sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, and see which ads worked. |
Whatever your settings, we never do any of these:
- Giving your name, phone number or email to a company you did not pick.
- Selling your personal information.
- Sharing your phone number or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing.
- Using your name, phone number or email to train any model.
- Letting the AI providers that run our models train their own models on your photos.
- Identifying people from faces in your photos.
Switching a setting off applies to new information straight away. It cannot undo de-identified figures already made or models already trained, because no one person's part of them can be picked out again.
16. Your rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live in Canada or the United States, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete it;
- withdraw consent, subject to legal or contractual limits;
- get a copy of your information in a portable format;
- opt out of targeted advertising, and of the sale or sharing of personal information;
- appeal if we refuse your request; and
- complain to a privacy regulator.
How to make a request
- Use Your Privacy Choices.
- Email info@humanik.io.
- Call +1 888-773-1329 (9am to 5pm Eastern, Monday to Friday).
To protect you, we verify your identity before acting on a request, normally by confirming the phone number or email already on your project or account. An authorised agent may make a request for you if we can confirm they have your permission. We honour these requests as the law where you live requires, answer within the time it sets, and tell you if we need more time. If we refuse a request, we explain why and how to appeal or complain.
We do not charge you or treat you differently for using your privacy rights. Roomquoted is free either way.
17. Children
Roomquoted is for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we learn that we have, we delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@humanik.io.
18. Privacy incidents
If a privacy incident happens, we act quickly to contain it and assess the risk. Where the law requires, we notify the people affected and the relevant privacy regulators, and we keep a record of incidents.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We post the new version on this page. If a change materially affects how we use information you already gave us, we tell you before it takes effect, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it. We review this policy at least once a year.
20. Privacy Officer, contact and complaints
Humanik Technologies Inc. has a Privacy Officer who is responsible for our compliance with this policy and privacy law. Contact our Privacy Officer at info@humanik.io, or by phone at +1 888-773-1329. Please start with us. We would rather put it right.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can also complain to the privacy regulator where you live, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your state attorney general in the United States.
